He found what may be the best beer in the world. Yes of course I am talking about Boulivard Unfiltered Wheat. Not straight up but with a Lemon. Mmmm.

So you see, Nichol, it’s not really his fault, I believe he was placed in the situation where someone explained the culinary genius of the fine brewmaster that came up with this extrodinary brew, and well the “just one” mentality took over.

So hey Nichole, please forgive our friend Keith, put on a Cory Ryan record, like the day you fell in love, and dance eat and fall in love again.

Wow! I just got out of the movie, Pursuit of Happiness, there were some lines that really hit home with so many people I have been talking to lately.

Chris the lead was working a job he hated then an landed an intership to something better. There was a point where he said “back in school I would do great on a test and feel pride happiness knowing all the things I would become and accomplish and now I look into the mirror and realize that I have not become any of what I was capable of.”

WOW! How many people right now are in a job to pay for things that dont really add to their quality of living. They just past the time a bit easier. How many of you have worked your whole life to be one thing, and now find yourself working in a comfort zone that is not so comfortable.

When is our time? When will we step off the platform and become what we were meant to be? Or are we already there? Am I? Are you? Are you going to stay in the comfort zone, and if so how comfortable is it?

Sometimes when there is nothing to fix there is nothing to disect and thus nothing to write about. I guess that is how “MaKe Contact” came about. I was writing to my Muse, my subconscious.

“Have I been blind, I can not seem to find a single line, no words, no rymes, no nothing comes to mind, I just sit here on my thumbs drawing circles with a dime.”

So on and so forth, but now I need human interaction. I want to help people deal with what they are going through. Ask Dr. Ryan, much like Dr. Phil though I am not licensed but I do love to listen and watch.

So if you have a problem, if your struggling with something or someone, let me know. I would love to hear about what is going on with my readers.

I woke up today, with a schedule all planned out, having almost every moment spoken for.

This happens sometimes but a lot of the time my planner looks more like a task list. Just gotta get-er-done. But in looking over what I have to do to survive, I noticed that I had nothing to help me LIVE.

Yes there is a differance between surviving and living. Let me ask you this. Do you feel like you have a purpose that you are not accomplishing? Do you have that tugging at that inner part of you that says, ”you were meant for more?” Do you work a job that pays the bills but does not feed the soul?

WHAT ARE WE TO DO? We have watched too much tv. We have been a product of the reality generation. Where people are just getting recognized for looking good and partying harder than the rest. Been there done that. I got a lot of free drinks and paid for a lot more.

There was even an article on me in a Nashville rag on what it meant to be a chicken-fried Rock star. The little thing they failed to mention was that this Nashvegas Rock star was waiting tables at the Melting Pot and he was not playing out nearly as much as going out.

Hmmmm. So now, after getting off the subject, I feel a little numb. I feel like there is something more something that I need to leave home for, something that the heavens open up and light my head with some epiphany.

I realize that my life has just been a part of some huge event, that the camera pans out and the full puzzle comes into view. Does anyone else feel like they are surviving when they sould be living? I think there is an army of us out there and think what an army could do… but were is our picture, what is the puzzle we need to fit into?

Yesterday I got a call while standing in my kitchen drinking my morning OJ, that Mark, (the co-owner of our practice space Astrovision sound) passed away. This is always a sad thing, in the sense that we will not see them again, but we pray that they got home to a better place.

In meeting all of his close friends and family. I realized that a tragedy has hit us once again.

Mark was in his 30s, a quiet guy, little over weight, soft disposition. Mark loved music, he would listen to some good and some crap bands every night for 2 years and when the quiet of after practice hit, he would put on live shows from Yes and Zeppelin and everything else one can find on ebay these days. Followd by some great words of encouragement on the practice session he just observed.

He loved live music. But never went to see it….this is odd. I come to find out that Mark had Cancer at age 12 thus the meds gave him a weight gain.

The kids were ruthless, teasing constantly, as if cancer is not bad enough the effects of a cure seem to be worse. From this teasing. he developed a phobia of eating in public which morphed into a phobia of public places. Thus this TRUE MUSIC lover would never see another live show again.

He wouls spend allowances on live videos and surf the net day in and day out for any new material from his favorite bands but he could not get out to see them. As a musician, this is a tragedy.

He is the people we write songs for. He is the Fan, The Friend that keep our music going. Not to mention a great guy who would feel moved if a band came by on an off day just to say hi. He was a great guy who had his Love robbed from him my mean hearted kids looking for a laugh.

Here is a thought for all the kids heading to school tomorow. ” Not everyone that is hurt grabs a gun” some just dont go outside again. I dont want to make light of past events but I feel like the tragedy here hapened back when the scars made were given by heartless words.

How easy would it have been to say some kinder words instead. KIDS THINK, YOU DONT NEED A BULLET PROOF VEST. WHEN YOUR AT HOME what would it take to make everyone at your school feel socially safe. To EXCILE THE BULLIES insead of the soft spoken, loyal, and giving.

JUST A THOUGHT!

Another time we went through a drive through, “just to talk,” “can I help you,” said the girl behind the menu board, “yea, we just wanted someone to talk to” said us in the red Dodge Neon. I guess we were buzzing Neon or like onlay a Dodge Neon can do.

And to think we could have been in an Esspesso. Well I think I am switching to Bit o Honeys, you know the peanut butter and honey candy, yep cause sometimes I want a lot and sometimes I just need a Bit a Honey.

Peace all. I hope you have been checking our sight for all our secret Shows. Boo Ya.

Hey there everyone. Whell whata tour. I hope you were there. We had a blast. Like every tour. I live on Red Bull and Coffee and ya watch out because I have also had a knot in my neck for the last 4 days.

I guess you need water too. It has been a great crick one of the ones that you have to turn at your torso to answer anyone on whichever side. Ya. I think this jesture may be the next big trend, everyone will be doing the ….. eyes first followed by the lips. I dont know why but it is just the way it is.

Chew on that next time you have a crick, its eyes then lips, then the torso turn, yep.

Well, we love Cleveland again, playing “Heroes” for the great people who donaited to Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital. Then hit the road and got into NYC to play The Knitting Factory for the first time.

I have got to say the best aillafle sandwich is still from the Wynibago right outside of The Cutting Room. I think it is in the pie district. Then Yep like usual, we played a secret show at The Barking Spider. just set up percussion and we played.

Hey there everyone. So now we are back on the road. Part of being with an independent label means that the artists picks up some slack and wear a few differnet hats.

So Cory has been playing the booking agent, Manager, Tour Manager and writer.

After a good drive we are in Cleveland. Ready to play for the Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital fund raising Gala. This is a phenomenal hospital and a great cause. Under the direction of Debbie Hermann I have written a song just for this event, “Hero’s Are Born.” Keep in contact to hear postings of this song. We are also taking tons of pictures.

Then me and the boys are off to NYC to play a real intimate show at the Knitting Factory as well as the Tin Angel in Philly. Fun stuff. I think we may do a last minute early show at the folk club “The Barking Spider” in Cleveland too, stay in touch for more details.

On another Great note. We had a great meeting with John Gorman whose resume is golden and so big I would not know where to start and John Malm, who managed Trent Reznor aka Nine Inche Nails and Marilyn Manson, as well as a few acts he has now, one of which wrote “Get Yourself a Gun” for the theme of Sopranos. Thanks Johns. Sorry we had to leave so soon, but I am looking forward to talking to you again

And as far as the rest of our readers. I am looking forward to seeing you at a show in your town. Keep in touch. I am loving the comments. Your the best
